One hour of presentation about AI in courts or the legal system
Me and my partner Leo had an presentation in class for one hour. Our topic is AI in courts or the legal system.
First of all, I am glad to have Leo as my partner. He was very good in presenting, he is the one who came out with the idea to make this presentation much more interesting. I learned a lot of presentation skill from him. I am glad to have this opportunity to stand in front of classmate and presenting + Q&A for 1 hour. This experience helped me to figure out my weakness during presentation, and also increase my encourage to talk in front of people.
Secondly, the moment we got this topic, we were quite worry because AI in courts was something we don't usually think about or heard about. However, through research and study, we able to understand more about this technology and what is its effect towards the society. AI system in court is still a new field that need a lot human capital to investigate and study about it. In US, AI in court mainly used as a risk assessment to determine the risk of the defender. It is not yet been used in the main court. China started to build research center to study about this technology and how it apply to court and legal system.
During the presentation, I was quite nervous and sometime cannot recall what I need to say. There was some moment I do not know what was I talking about. In front of people, I can feel like my thinking skills suddenly become very slow, so slow that every second become a minute. I need to keep on remind myself do not feel worry or scare, "Everything will be fine" I told myself. At last, I was able to finish my presentation.
Q&A is the moment I was waiting for. We needed comments about our presentation so that we can improve our self. Q&A is also a way for us -- the presenter to interact with audience. From Q&A, I was able to know what is the things we didn't talk about and what is audience's concern about this topic. It is also a way to test our knowledge about this topic. I hope that the audience satisfy with our answer. I understand that some of the audience do not satisfy with my answer, or, my reply didn answer their question. My poor information delivery skill might be the cause of this problem, or I misunderstand their questions. I also understand that sometime the audience do not involve in Q&A because we presenter do not delivered clear information about this topic, which cause them do not know how to ask a question due to the reason they have no idea what we are talking about. Anyway, I will learned from the mistake and improve myself. Huge thanks to all the audience who willing to listen to us.
Finally, the last presentation of the sem ended. Yeah (with exhausted voice...~)
